Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gobbler Strutter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Paul Bear!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Taro Takaoka and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Bear has had enough of the clinch but Strutter keeps him there for the moment.
Strutter drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Strutter has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Bear is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Strutter keeps control of Bear as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Strutter fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Strutter doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Strutter crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Bear - the referee stops the clock and Strutter gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Bear. Strutter manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Bear throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Paul Bear will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Bear closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Strutter shoots in and drives through. Bear sprawls well.

Bear will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Bear fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Strutter looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Paul Bear seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bear looks to land a combination. Strutter sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Strutter has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Bear's face.

Gobbler Strutter is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Bear lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Strutter looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Strutter takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Strutter takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Gobbler Strutter.
I think Strutter has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
