Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lonnie Kiger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrzej Golota (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lonnie Kiger has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lonnie Kiger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andrzej Golota!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kiger shoots in but Golota avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Golota throws a hook to the side of Kiger's head but Kiger sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Kiger closes the distance and clinches.
Golota lands with a right to the head.
Golota looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Golota wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Kiger is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Golota misses with some punches.
Kiger drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Golota manages to break the clinch.

Kiger closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Kiger gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Kiger uses his free foot to push down on Golota's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Golota.

Kiger swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Golota is now in Kiger's guard. A big mistake from Kiger there, giving up the dominant position!

Golota really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kiger. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kiger is looking for a triangle but Golota pushes his legs off easily.
Golota wants to get up but he can't break Kiger's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Kiger is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Golota has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kiger is proving hard to escape from.

Golota stands and steps away. Kiger gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Golota darts in and clinches Kiger up against the cage.

Golota has had enough of the clinch but Kiger keeps him there for the moment.
Golota tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Kiger jumps guard and drags Golota to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Golota must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Kiger working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Golota doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Golota manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Kiger had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Golota defends it easily.

Kiger escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Golota gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Golota has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kiger is proving hard to escape from.
Kiger manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Golota is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kiger wants to finish this one by submission but Golota is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Kiger.

Golota is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Kiger is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Golota has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Kiger jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Golota manages to avoid the submission attempt.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kiger scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Golota to see if he's OK.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kiger is trying to get an arm triangle but Golota is defending well.

Kiger is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Golota is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lonnie Kiger dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Golota throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Golota clinches but Kiger breaks the clinch

and Kiger counters with a shoot takedown. Golota fights it but they end up in guard.

Kiger thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Golota wants to stand and escape but Kiger is having none of it.
Kiger works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Kiger moves nicely into side control.

Kiger is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Golota has escaped the position, nice work there.

Kiger tries for a kimura but Golota is defending well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kiger working the ground and pound but Golota is defending the strikes.

Golota is trying to buck Kiger off.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kiger has hold of Golota's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Golota seems comfortable defending it but Kiger has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Golota is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Golota is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Kiger couldn't care less - he's delighted!
