Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michal Kurpinski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rich Pickings (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pickings is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Embrace Of The Endless Ocean. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Rich Pickings!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Chris Edwards and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pickings avoids the head kick by Kurpinski.
Kurpinski shoots for a takedown but Pickings saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Kurpinski fails with an attempt to clinch.
Kurpinski looks to land a body kick but Pickings moved away.
Kurpinski throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Pickings's head.


It looks like Rich Pickings has been cut.
Kurpinski misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Pickings lands a high kick!

Pickings pushes Kurpinski up against the cage in a clinch.
Kurpinski tries to circle away but Pickings has him pinned against the cage.
Kurpinski wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Pickings has him pressed against the cage.
Kurpinski wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Kurpinski's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Kurpinski wants to break free but Pickings has control.
Kurpinski is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Pickings is defending well for now.

Pickings gets a trip takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Pickings wants to take a breather but Kurpinski is having none of it.
Kurpinski trying to control but Pickings postures up.

Pickings is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Pickings stands up out of the half guard.

Kurpinski tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Kurpinski changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pickings tries to avoid it but Kurpinski manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pickings to the ground. Pickings escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Kurpinski is breathing heavily.
Pickings lands a high kick!
Pickings should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Kurpinski lands a head kick!

Pickings clinches with his opponent.
Pickings goes for a takedown in the clinch but Kurpinski prevents it.
Kurpinski wants to break free but Pickings has control.

Pickings ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Pickings no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Pickings has his feet on Kurpinski's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Pickings is defended easily by Kurpinski.
Pickings throws a head kick but Kurpinski moves out of range.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Pickings takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Kurpinski misses with a knee strike.
Pickings landing knees to the body.
Pickings looking for a takedown.
Michal Kurpinski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rich Pickings.
A frustrated look appears on Pickings's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Pickings keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Kurpinski's efforts to push away.
Kurpinski wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Pickings successfully pulls guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Pickings manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Kurpinski tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pickings swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Kurpinski gets the takedown into side control.
Kurpinski fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Pickings is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Kurpinski off and has taken his back!
Kurpinski is trying to break free.
Kurpinski covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
A lull in the action here.
Kurpinski has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Pickings.

Kurpinski knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pickings on the ground.
Kurpinski is taking damage to the body and head.
Pickings thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.

Pickings is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Kurpinski is defending well though. Pickings let's go of the attempt for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rich Pickings dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Rich Pickings's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Pickings throws a series of punches but Kurpinski avoids them all with ease.
Kurpinski will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Kurpinski fails with a takedown attempt.

Pickings bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Kurpinski is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Pickings asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Pickings trying to control the action but Kurpinski is working from the bottom.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Pickings has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Kurpinski is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Pickings yanks on the arm and Kurpinski is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Pickings.
