Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ryan Mallett!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Mauricio Rocha and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hannedy tries to clinch but Mallett moves out of range.

Mallett throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hannedy was covering up waiting for the punch and Mallett finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Mallett feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Hannedy wants to stand and escape but Mallett is having none of it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mallett shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Mallett was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Mallett postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Hannedy looks a forlorn figure.

Mallett is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Hannedy is surviving well by controlling Mallett's body position as best he can.

Mallett is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Mallett gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Mallett gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Mallett apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Hannedy throws a right and a left that both miss.

Mallett shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hannedy manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Mallett is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Hannedy to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Hannedy shrugs it off.
