Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sid Thunder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tre Tanks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sid Thunder!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tre Tanks!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Edson Gomes and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to de liver by Thunder. Beautiful body shot.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Tanks.
Thunder throws a head kick but Tanks moves out of range.
Tanks shoots in for a double leg but Thunder sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Tanks throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Thunder's waist but Thunder gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tanks off to one side.
Sid Thunder has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tre Tanks.
Tanks misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Tanks shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Thunder as he jumps to the side.

Thunder shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Tanks is trying to defend but Thunder finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Thunder has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Tanks tries to get to full guard but Thunder has control of the leg.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Tanks is looking to control Thunder's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Tanks avoid being mounted?

Tanks working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Thunder doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Thunder manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Thunder has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Sid Thunder just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Tanks has his takedown stuffed

and Thunder counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Thunder controlling the action here.
Tanks is trying to maintain the position but Thunder is very close to passing his half guard.
Thunder content to control rather than advance.
Thunder wants to control but Tanks is keeping him busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and Thunder counters with a nice low kick that buckles Tanks's knee momentarily.

Tanks shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Thunder counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Sid Thunder has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tre Tanks.

Tre Tanks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thunder throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Tanks uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Thunder.

It looks like Tre Tanks has been cut.
Tanks gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Thunder counters with a nice kick to the body.
Tanks is breathing heavily.

and Thunder counters with a nice double leg into side control. Tanks won't be happy with that.

Thunder is looking to take a break and control but Tanks is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Thunder wants to control but Tanks is keeping him busy.
Thunder works to advance to full mount. Tanks defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Thunder is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Tanks is squirming around, avoiding Thunder's attempts to control the action.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Sid Thunder just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Tanks misses with a takedown
and Thunder connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Tanks gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Thunder cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Tanks with a poor takedown
and Thunder makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Jab, jab by Thunder - just one landing.
Thunder feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Tanks's calf.
Thunder fails with an attempt to clinch.
Tanks has his takedown stuffed
and Thunder counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Tanks is trying desperately to land a takedown but Thunder is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Tanks.

A nice combination there by Thunder.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Thunder scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Tanks doesn't seem bothered though.
Thunder dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Tanks. That did some damage!
Tanks steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Thunder. That one must have hurt.
Thunder throws a nice head kick!


That has opened up Tre Tanks's cut even more.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Thunder throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Thunder shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Thunder lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tanks misses with a takedown
and Thunder makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Thunder scores with a hook to the body. Tanks takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Thunder buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Thunder looks to score with a jab to the body but Tanks is just out of range.

and Thunder counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Sid Thunder is winning the standup battle so far.
Tanks takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Thunder lands a high kick!

Thunder dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Tanks blocks a head kick by Thunder.
Tanks shoots and misses
and Thunder makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Sid Thunder has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tre Tanks.
Tanks on the wrong end of a nice jab.

and Thunder counters with a thumping low kick.
Sid Thunder is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Thunder cracks a nice hook into Tanks's ribs.

Sid Thunder overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Thunder wants to take a breather but Tanks is having none of it.
Sid Thunder is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Tanks trying to get back to full guard but Thunder takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!

Thunder lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Thunder is working for a guillotine from mount but Tanks frees his head quite easily.
