A fine choice. Eric Sharp has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Petey Skugog's chin.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Steve Erwin and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sharp lands a jab to the nose.
Skugog fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Skugog decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Skugog trying to control the action but Sharp is working from the bottom.
Sharp looks like he's trying to stand up.
Skugog thows a huge punch but Sharp dodges it nicely.

Skugog is working an open guard so Sharp takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Skugog closes the distance and clinches up with Sharp, looking for a takedown. Skugog pushes Sharp against the cage but Sharp circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Sharp stuffs the takedown.
Skugog takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Skugog looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sharp is fending him off so far but Skugog persists. Nope, Sharp circles away and we're back to standing.
Skugog fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Sharp is out of range.
Skugog wants to clinch but Sharp slips to the side
and Sharp counters by moving into the clinch.

Skugog lands some strikes from the bottom.
Sharp won't allow Skugog to sweep him here.
Sharp is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Skugog is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Sharp wants to get back to his feet but Skugog is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Sharp had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Skugog is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Sharp Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Skugog's back instead.
A lull in the action here.
Sharp throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Skugog!
Skugog is rocked!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sharp trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Skugog doesn't escape.
Oh Skugog is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sharp patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sharp is hanging on to Skugog's back as he tries to escape.

and Sharp counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Skugog thinking.

Skugog tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Sharp just stands there and leans against the cage.
Sharp lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Skugog is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Sharp pulls him back up using the underhooks.

and Sharp counters with a huge uppercut, hook combination that drops Skugog! The ref has seen enough - he's dived in to stop the fight! Brutal strikes by Sharp!
