Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between David Ogden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pete Dillan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ogden comes to the cage accompanied by Pantera - Drag The Waters. Dillan has chosen We Will Rock You - Queen as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, David Ogden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Pete Dillan!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dillan tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ogden was well out of range. Poor timing from Dillan.
Dillan lands a right hook to the body.
Ogden throws a body kick that misses.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Dillan, as that shot connected.
Dillan is looking to score with low kicks.
Dillan moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Dillan thows a body shot but no joy.
Ogden misses with a takedown attempt - Dillan sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Dillan throws a body punch but Ogden moves out of range.
Dillan throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ogden.
Ogden shoots in and drives through. Dillan sprawls well.
A looping hook to the body misses from Dillan. Ogden does a little dance to reset his feet.

Ogden swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Dillan throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Nice takedown defense from Dillan. No joy for Ogden on that attempt.

Ogden shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Dillan manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Ogden is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Dillan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ogden is one step ahead there.

Ogden is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Dillan is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Dillan has escaped and now he's on top!
Dillan stays in close to Ogden's body and controls the position.

Ogden escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dillan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Dillan is looking to stand up but Ogden won't let him.

Ogden wants to sweep here but Dillan controlling him for the moment.
Dillan has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Ogden is proving hard to escape from.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ogden has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Dillan finds it's way round the side to connect with Ogden's head.
Ogden shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dillan as he jumps to the side.
Dillan throws an overhand right that lands on Ogden's shoulder, as Ogden tries to avoid the shot.
Dillan throws a big shot that misses.
Dillan tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ogden was well out of range. Poor timing from Dillan.
Ogden uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Dillan.
Dillan uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Ogden has time to react.
Dillan scores with a jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pete Dillan dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Dillan throws a jab when Ogden was well out of range.
A solid leg kick lands there for Dillan.
Dillan misses the jab.
Ogden tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dillan sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ogden somewhat.
Ogden moves out of range as Dillan strikes.
Dillan missing with a left hand there. Ogden was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Ogden closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ogden lands in his opponent's guard.

Ogden tries to free his leg and advance position but Dillan is retaining full guard.

Dillan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Ogden wants to control but Dillan is keeping busy.

Dillan decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Ogden uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Dillan.

David Ogden is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Dillan waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Ogden.
A big right from Dillan misses.
Pete Dillan seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Ogden fakes the leg kick and cracks Dillan in the body.

Ogden throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Dillan was covering up waiting for the punch and Ogden finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Dillan bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ogden's guard.

Ogden controls Dillan momentarily but Dillan frees himself.
Dillan wants to stand but Ogden has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Ogden keeping moving, preventing Dillan from controlling successfully.

Dillan decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Ogden, up you get!
Dillan throws a lazy right hand but Ogden sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Ogden shoots in for a takedown but Dillan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Dillan throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Dillan looks to throw the jab but Ogden is out of range.

A close second round but Pete Dillan will probably get the nod - 10:9.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Dillan throws a hook to the side of Ogden's head but Ogden sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Dillan misses with a double jab.
Dillan walks forward, straight into a front kick from Ogden.

Ogden darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Ogden is trying to work for a kimura but Dillan is defending well.

Ogden is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dillan looks like he's trying to stand up.
Dillan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Ogden changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dillan looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Ogden is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Dillan knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Dillan pushes Ogden away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Ogden gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Dillan wants to control but Ogden postures up.

Ogden is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Dillan has escaped the position, nice work there.
Dillan tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Ogden is looking to take a break and control but Dillan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Ogden wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Dillan, who protects the arm well.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Dillan leaves Ogden with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
David Ogden has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

David Ogden showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Dillan has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
