Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eaton Cox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Choice Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Cox might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Hatebreed - Destroy Everything. Gracie has chosen MotherFu*ker of the Year - Motley Crue as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Cox.

Gracie shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Cox tries to get to full guard but Gracie has control of the leg.
Gracie moves nicely into side control.

Gracie closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Gracie postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Cox is not content to let Gracie control the position.
Cox wants to control but Gracie postures up.
Cox is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Gracie's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Gracie pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Cox crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Gracie - the referee stops the clock and Cox gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Gracie. Cox manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Choice Gracie showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Cox's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Gracie feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Cox throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Gracie stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Choice Gracie is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

A swing and a miss from Cox.
Gracie throws a half hearted mid kick.
Cox scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Cox wants to clinch but Gracie slips to the side
and Gracie counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Cox thinking.
Gracie connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Gracie throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

and Cox counters with a single leg into guard. Gracie didn't expect that.

Gracie got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cox has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gracie has managed to get both his arms back between Cox's legs - danger averted.

Gracie slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Eaton Cox.
Well Gracie has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
