PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dominique Samson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yoshido Yamaha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yamaha has chosen Teriyaki boyz - fast and furious as his entrance music. Yoshido Yamaha will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dominique Samson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoshido Yamaha!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Hirohito Nitta.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yamaha moves in looking to clinch but Samson pushes him off.
A punch lands to the side of Samson 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Yamaha misses with a two punch combination.
Yamaha lands a two punch combo.

Samson is rocked!
Yamaha fails to land the takedown.
Oh Samson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Samson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Samson seems to have got his legs back now.
Yamaha tries to roll over but Samson keeps him under control.
Samson has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Samson jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Yamaha manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Samson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Samson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Samson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Yamaha is trying to buck Samson off.

Samson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Samson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Samson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Samson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Yamaha is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Yamaha wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Samson trying to control the position but Yamaha is working away.
Yamaha is looking to reverse the position.
Yamaha is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Samson trying to control the action but Yamaha is working from the bottom.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Yamaha is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Samson wants to take a breather but Yamaha is having none of it.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Samson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Yamaha is just riding it out for now. Samson eventually gives up the hold.
Samson is breathing heavily.
Samson blocks the strikes from Yamaha.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Yamaha trying to control but Samson postures up.
Yamaha is looking to improve his position.
Samson trying to pass the guard but Yamaha defending well.
Yamaha is pressing down on Samson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Samson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Yamaha throws a nice looking combination but Samson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Samson dodges the punch combination from Yamaha.
Yamaha shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Samson counters with a single leg into guard. Yamaha didn't expect that.

Yamaha is working an open guard so Samson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Samson tries to clinch up.
Samson takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Yamaha lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Samson is looking to close the distance but Yamaha sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Samson crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Samson is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
