PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Kiely (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Kringle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kringle has chosen Wating on the world to change as his entrance music. Chris Kringle has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Eddie Kiely!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Chris Kringle!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Radbod Blank and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kiely looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kringle is fending him off so far but Kiely persists. Nope, Kringle circles away and we're back to standing.
Kringle throws a body punch but Kiely moves out of range.
Kiely keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Kiely moves in looking to clinch but Kringle pushes him off.
Kiely tries for a takedown but Kringle sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Kiely closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Kiely not doing much here.
Kiely seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kringle for as long as he can get away with.
Kiely looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kringle with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kiely trying to pass the guard but Kringle defending well.

Kiely is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kringle is just riding it out for now. Kiely eventually gives up the hold.
Kringle really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kiely. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kringle keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Kringle is refusing to be controlled, as Kiely sits in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kringle looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Kringle wants to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kringle is not content to let Kiely control the position.
Kiely slips a nice elbow through Kringle's hands, connecting with Kringle's forehead.
Kiely seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Kringle trying to control here.
Kiely thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kringle's head.
Kringle trying to control but Kiely postures up.
Kiely drops an elbow to the side of Kringle's head.
Kiely wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kringle keeps working.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kiely prevents Kringle from improving his position.
Kringle has hold of Kiely's hands but Kiely slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Well, if Kiely is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Kiely seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kringle does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Kiely looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Kiely is breathing heavily.
Kringle is looking to escape.
Kringle is not content to let Kiely control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kringle wants to get back to full guard.
Kringle is refusing to be controlled, as Kiely sits in half guard.
Kringle trying to control from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Kiely gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Kringle.
Kringle lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Kiely at a distance.
Kiely takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Kringle tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kiely was well out of range. Poor timing from Kringle.
Kringle fails to land with a series of punches.
Kiely takes a jab right on the kisser.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chris Kringle dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Kiely takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.


It looks like Eddie Kiely has been cut.

Kringle clinches with his opponent.
Kringle stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Kringle has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Kringle lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Kiely backwards.

Kringle breaks from the clinch.
Kringle dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Kringle thuds a left hand into Kiely's body.
Kringle goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kringle digs a good body shot into Kiely's ribs.
Kringle swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kringle is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Kiely rather than just go for the knockout.
Kringle lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.


Eddie Kiely's cut is getting worse.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kringle digs a good hook to Kiely's body.
Kringle throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Kringle connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Kiely! He's out on his feet! Kringle rushes in and drops Kiely with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Chris Kringle!
