The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cuervo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
kupzi tries to clinch there but Cuervo circles away.
kupzi fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cuervo avoids it really well and circles away.
kupzi shoots for a double leg takedown but Cuervo sprawls well. He's pushed kupzi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Jose Cuervo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of jojo kupzi.
Cuervo tries to bum rush kupzi with a series of wild strikes but kupzi uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

kupzi dives in and grabs Cuervo's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cuervo pushes down on kupzi's head and hops out.

No luck with that takedown attempt from kupzi.
Cuervo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
