Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alistar Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Al Riley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alistar Parker has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alistar Parker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Al Riley!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riley shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Parker but Parker pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Parker changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Riley looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Parker wants to control but Riley is keeping him busy.

Parker stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Riley gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Riley tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Riley trying to control the position.
Parker pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Riley is keeping the position for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Riley is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Parker postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Riley escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Parker gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Parker advances position into side control!
Riley pushes Parker away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Parker gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Parker in side control lands a decent elbow.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Riley managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Parker.
Parker trying to control the action but Riley is working from the bottom.
Parker looks up at the clock and then as Riley takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Parker smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Parker working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Parker just content to control the position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Riley is not content to let Parker control the position.
Riley tries to bench press Parker off him but Parker keeps the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Parker pulls out of a head kick attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Parker closes the distance and clinches up with Riley, looking for a takedown. Parker pushes Riley against the cage but Riley circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Riley tries to clinch but Parker is having none of it.

Parker decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Parker is breathing heavily.
Riley is not content to let Parker control the position.
Parker trying to mount his opponent but Riley defends it.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Parker in particular looking to stall.
Riley manages to get to full guard.
Riley looking for a sweep. Not yet Riley, not yet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alistar Parker dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Riley fails with the takedown

and Parker counters with a shoot takedown. Riley fights it but they end up in guard.
Riley looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Riley manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Parker manages to get himself to full guard.
Riley trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Parker manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Riley is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Parker advances to half guard.
Parker slows the pace down in half guard.
Parker wants to control but Riley is keeping him busy.
Parker thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Riley's head.
Riley is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Parker wants to get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Parker stalling.
Parker wants to take a breather but Riley is having none of it.
Riley works his way to full guard. Good work.

Parker throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Riley is trying to control the position but Parker postures up.

Parker trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Riley has his hands on Parker's head, controlling the position.
Parker wants to control from the top but Riley keeps moving.
Riley wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Riley is trying to control the position but Parker postures up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Parker is trying hard to land a takedown here. Riley sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Parker clinches up against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Parker stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Riley breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Parker throws a right hand that Riley ducks under and follows up with a left that Riley also avoids with ease.
Riley fails with the takedown
and Parker counters with an inside leg kick.

Parker moves into range and clinches up with Riley.
Riley jumps guard but Parker stands there with Riley around his waist. Riley gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Alistar Parker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Al Riley.
Riley has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Parker is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Parker is working Riley over against the cage.
Riley utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
Riley tries to throw a body punch but Parker avoids it by throwing Riley back against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alistar Parker dominated that second round.
That's time! Parker's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Parker is looking to clinch.

Parker gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Riley breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Parker keeps the fight on the outside.
Parker tries to clinch but Riley is having none of it.
Parker lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Riley looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Parker is fending him off so far but Riley persists. Nope, Parker circles away and we're back to standing.
Riley misses with a takedown

so Parker counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Riley can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Parker controls the pace.
Parker seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Riley for as long as he can get away with.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Parker works over Riley with some ground and pound from guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Parker throwing strikes but missing.

Parker got a little sloppy there for a moment and Riley has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Parker has managed to get both his arms back between Riley's legs - danger averted.
Parker stays in close to Riley's body and controls the position.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Alistar Parker just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Parker wants to clinch up but Riley keeps it at a distance.
Riley closes the distance looking to clinch
and Parker counters with a two punch combo.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A punch combination from Parker misses.

Parker throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Riley was covering up waiting for the punch and Parker finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Riley is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Parker defends well.
Parker controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Riley escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Parker gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Alistar Parker overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Alistar Parker is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Al Riley has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Riley has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Parker can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

And that's the end of the fight!
Alistar Parker showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Parker has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
