Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between MacDonald Rory (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damian Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rory shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Pierre is trying to defend but Rory finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Rory looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Pierre with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Rory slips a nice elbow through Pierre's hands, connecting with Pierre's forehead.
Pierre wants to improve his position but Rory is controlling well.

Rory got a little sloppy there for a moment and Pierre has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rory has managed to get both his arms back between Pierre's legs - danger averted.
