Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bronson Sheffield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Junior Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sheffield comes to the cage accompanied by Jackie Moon- Love Me Sexy. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sheffield will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Velasquez misses with a takedown
and Sheffield counters with a nice double leg into side control. Velasquez won't be happy with that.
Velasquez wants to control but Sheffield postures up.
Sheffield tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sheffield has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Sheffield is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Velasquez knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Sheffield working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sheffield has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Sheffield tries to control but Velasquez wriggling away.
Velasquez is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Sheffield swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Velasquez is now in Sheffield's guard. A big mistake from Sheffield there, giving up the dominant position!
Sheffield is breathing heavily.
Velasquez postures up and lands a big shot to Sheffield's brow.
Velasquez wants to pass the guard but Sheffield is keeping the position.
Sheffield working for a triangle but Velasquez defends it easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Velasquez is in close to Sheffield's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Velasquez seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Sheffield is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Sheffield could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Velasquez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Velasquez wants to control from the top but Sheffield keeps moving.
Velasquez might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Sheffield kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Velasquez avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Velasquez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Velasquez is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Velasquez tries to free his leg and advance position but Sheffield is retaining full guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Velasquez closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Sheffield takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Velasquez lands some shots froms side control.
Velasquez scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Sheffield to see if he's OK.

Velasquez in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Velasquez is looking to take a break and control but Sheffield is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Sheffield manages to get back to half guard.
Velasquez is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Sheffield is not content to let Velasquez control the position.

Sheffield is trying to maintain the position but Velasquez is very close to passing his half guard.

Sheffield is refusing to be controlled, as Velasquez sits in half guard.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Velasquez counters with a takedown into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Junior Velasquez will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Velasquez feints and as Sheffield raises his hands in defense, Velasquez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Sheffield has momentary wrist control but Velasquez slips an elbow through the middle.
Velasquez is in close to Sheffield's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Sheffield working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Velasquez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Sheffield is tightening it up a little... Velasquez has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Velasquez reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Velasquez taps out! nice BJJ there by Sheffield!
