The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dakka gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Marcum tries for a takedown but Dakka manages to get underhooks.
Dakka has had enough of the clinch but Marcum keeps him there for the moment.
Dakka is trying to drag Marcum to the mat but Marcum just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Dakka breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Marcum moves out of range of the leg kick from Dakka.
No luck for Marcum with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vinnie Marcum. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dakka keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Marcum tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Dakka swivels and escapes.
Wazz Dakka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dakka throws a right hand that Marcum ducks under and follows up with a left that Marcum also avoids with ease.
Marcum shoots in and drives through. Dakka sprawls well.

Marcum closes this distance looking for a takedown but Dakka circles away.
Dakka tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Nice defenses there by Marcum.
Dakka throws a looping overhand right but Marcum ducks down to avoid it.
Dakka tries to work over Marcum's front leg with a kick but Marcum checks it.
Dakka throws the left hand but Marcum avoids the punch easily.
Horrible takedown by Marcum or perhaps it was just good defense by Dakka which made him look bad.
Marcum displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Dakka throws out the jab.

Marcum is rocked!
Marcum is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Dakka doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Marcum crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Marcum's bad books for that mishap!
