Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marcel Mercier!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Stone!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mercier connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Stone lands with a hook. Mercier tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Mercier moves into the clinch successfully.
Stone pulls guard successfully.
Mercier prevents Stone from getting back to his feet.
Mercier got a little sloppy there for a moment and Stone has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mercier has managed to get both his arms back between Stone's legs - danger averted.
Mercier throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Stone looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Mercier trying to control the position from guard on top but Stone is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Mercier is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Mercier content to control rather than advance.
Mercier takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mercier thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Mercier fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Stone wants to try and get back to his feet.

You get the feeling that Stone really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Mercier is landing with some decent strikes but Stone is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
It looks like Michael Stone has been cut.
