Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Stew Grif (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Oliver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Stew Grif!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tommy Oliver!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Felipe Paraventi and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oliver is looking to clinch.
Grif keeps the fight on the outside.

Grif feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Oliver looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Grif looking to pass the guard.
Grif has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Oliver wants to sweep here but Grif controlling him for the moment.
Grif sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Oliver's guard.
Oliver is looking to improve his position.
Grif trying to control from half guard but Oliver is working away.
Grif works his way into full mount!
Grif trying to control but Oliver is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Grif has hold of Oliver's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Oliver manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Grif landing strikes from the mount and Oliver is in trouble!

Grif is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Oliver is surviving well by controlling Grif's body position as best he can.
Oliver is looking to improve his position but Grif isn't that keen on the idea.
Grif is landing with some decent strikes but Oliver is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Grif goes for an armbar but Oliver turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Oliver.
Grif is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Oliver works his way to full guard. Good work.
Grif won't allow Oliver to sweep him here.
Grif stands up over Oliver, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Grif cracks Oliver with a solid left hand.
Grif prevents Oliver from getting back to his feet.

Grif decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Oliver, up you get!

Grif closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Oliver to the mat! Oliver manages to get full guard.
Oliver is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Grif is controlling him.
Oliver looks gassed!

Grif trying to control the position from guard on top but Oliver is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Oliver manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Grif gets back to half guard.
Grif wants to improve his position but Oliver is controlling well.
Grif makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Grif.
Oliver is looking to stand up but Grif won't let him.
Oliver stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Grif swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Grif wriggles free and stands up.
Oliver tries to clinch there but Grif circles away.

Grif decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Grif uses his free foot to push down on Oliver's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Oliver.

Grif is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Oliver has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Grif pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Oliver can't escape the position.
Grif is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Grif cracks Oliver with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stew Grif dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


A telegraphed takedown attempt from Grif is defended easily by Oliver.
Grif really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Oliver with a poor takedown

and Grif counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Oliver won't allow Grif to pass to mount.
Stew Grif overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Oliver tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Grif has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Oliver is trying to reverse the position but instead Grif has taken his back - oops!

Grif is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Grif doesn't have the hooks in and Oliver manages to turn into his guard.

Grif has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Oliver off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Oliver is breathing heavily.

Grif gets a clinch.
Oliver misses with a knee strike.

Grif pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Tommy Oliver seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Grif scores a takedown into full mount!

Grif has control of Oliver's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Oliver regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Oliver sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Oliver is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Grif scores with a couple of nice shots.
Grif is looking to advance position but Oliver won't allow it.

Oliver looks like he's trying to stand up.
Grif prevents Oliver from improving his position.
Grif tries to pass the half guard into mount. Oliver knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Grif working over Oliver with some ground and pound. Oliver looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Oliver is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Grif scores with a couple of nice shots.
Oliver gets back to full guard.
Grif is in close to Oliver's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Grif wants to pass the guard but Oliver is keeping the position.

Grif trying to control but Oliver is working from the bottom.
Grif makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Oliver has his feet on Grif's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Oliver tries to clinch up

Grif is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Oliver!
Oliver has given up his back.
Grif connects with a big shot to the side of Oliver's head.

Oliver turns into Grif and is now in his guard.
Oliver wants to get up but he can't break Grif's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Grif escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Oliver gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Oliver is pushing down on Grif's leg trying to pass to half guard. Grif is fighting to maintain full guard but Oliver has managed to sneak the leg through.

Grif looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Grif is trying to maintain the position but Oliver is very close to passing his half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Grif pushes Oliver up against the cage in a clinch.

Grif breaks from the clinch.

Grif fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Oliver sprawls well initially but Grif persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Grif is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Oliver has managed to free his arm - good work.
Oliver is trying to stand back up but Grif is controlling him
Grif winds up and cracks Oliver with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Oliver flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Grif trying to mount his opponent but Oliver defends it.

Grif seems to be working for a kimura but Oliver defends the submission attempt.

Grif seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Oliver does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Grif lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Oliver on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Grif prevents Oliver from standing back up.
Grif lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Grif working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Grif not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Grif works his foot free and advances to mount.
Grif prevents Oliver from getting the reversal.
Grif breaks from Oliver's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Oliver tries to hold on but Grif postures up.
Grif lands with some strikes.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Grif landing punches.
Grif lands a nice shot to the head.
Grif drops a big elbow. That's hurt Oliver! More shots from Grif and the ref steps in! The fight is over!
