Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jeffrey Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mirko Silipovik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Jeffrey Silva could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Mirko Silipovik's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mirko Silipovik!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paulsen Ambrosius and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Silipovik.
Silva is breathing heavily.

Silipovik drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Silipovik trying to control but Silva is working from the bottom.
Silipovik trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Silipovik won't allow Silva to sweep him here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silipovik tries to stand but Silva is controlling from the bottom.
Silva keeping full guard, as Silipovik tries to pass.
Silipovik wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.
Silipovik thows a big elbow that misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Silipovik trying to control but Silva is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Silva tries to keep at a distance but Silipovik has taken the fight into the clinch.

Silipovik pulls Silva into guard.
Silipovik wants to sweep but no luck.
Silipovik is trying to control the position but Silva postures up.
Silva preventing the sweep.
Silipovik not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Silipovik thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Silipovik wants to improve his position but instead Silva has moved into half guard.
Silipovik trying to hold on to Silva's head to control him but Silva postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Silipovik shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Silipovik was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Silipovik is working for a guillotine from mount but Silva frees his head quite easily.
Silva wants to control but Silipovik is having none of it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Silva is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Silipovik is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Silva is desperately trying to improve his position but Silipovik has a good base and remains in mount.
Silva throwing hammer fists to the chest of Silipovik. What's that going to do exactly?
Silva sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Silva is trying to get back to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Silva regains full guard. Nicely done.

Silva had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Silipovik defends it easily.
Silva seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Silva keeping full guard, as Silipovik tries to pass.
Silva has his hands on Silipovik's head, controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mirko Silipovik dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Silva tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Silipovik counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Silipovik seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Silipovik wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Silva's closed guard. He's half up but Silva has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Silva pivots and extends the arm, Silipovik falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Silva! Well done that man!
