Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tavares Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucas Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lucas Griffin!
The judges for this bout are , and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A chopping leg kick lands by Cruz.
Griffin stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Cruz.
Cruz tries to score with a low kick but Griffin moves his leg out of the way.
Cruz tries a head kick but it misses.
Griffin throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Cruz was covering up waiting for the punch and Griffin finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Griffin trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Cruz manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Cruz wanted to stand there but Griffin had control of the position.
Griffin pulls Cruz in to control the position.
Cruz has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Griffin is proving hard to escape from.
Cruz is fighting to break Griffin's control of his arms but Griffin is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Griffin wants to sweep here but Cruz controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Griffin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cruz gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Cruz would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Cruz throws a right and a left that both miss.
Griffin throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Nice uppercut lands for Cruz. That snapped Griffin's head back.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Griffin avoids a punch combination nicely.
A good leg kick by Cruz.
Griffin looks gassed!
Cruz moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Griffin throws a head kick that misses
and Cruz counters with a thumping low kick.
Cruz drops Griffin with a beautiful combination! Griffin stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Cruz is looking for the KO!
Griffin is rocked!
Cruz lands a nice looking kick to the body. Griffin takes a step back to recover.
Griffin is still on wobbly legs! Can Cruz finish him?
Cruz throws a series of punches but Griffin moves out of range.
Cruz connects with a jab, followed by a picture perfect straight right that sends Griffin to the canvas, out cold! What a finish by Cruz!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Tavares Cruz!
