PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thai fighter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). fighter has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Thai fighter enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Taro Takaoka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peterson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts fighter as he jumps to the side.
fighter tries to clinch up but Peterson circles away and keeps his distance.

fighter moves into range and clinches up with Peterson.

Peterson pulls guard successfully.
fighter would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Peterson uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Peterson finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Peterson moves into the clinch successfully.

Peterson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Peterson has managed to clinch.

Peterson pulls fighter into guard.

fighter gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
A clash of legs there as fighter blocks the low kick.
Peterson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but fighter moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Peterson missing with a left hand there. fighter was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
fighter clinches but Peterson breaks the clinch

and Peterson counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
fighter looks gassed!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Peterson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

fighter tries to kick Peterson off in order to stand up. Peterson Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Peterson moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Peterson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down fighter for as long as he can get away with.

Peterson is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. fighter is trying to escape and Peterson transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and fighter is forced to tap! Nice work there by Peterson! Very nice indeed!
