PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between King Kessinger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and lloyd zak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). zak has chosen strenght to go on - rise against as his entrance music. lloyd zak is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Steve Montenegro and Joseph Jones.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kessinger tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
zak misses with an uppercut. Kessinger saw that one coming.

Kessinger gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
zak postures up in Kessinger's guard and throws a big left but Kessinger blocks it.

Kessinger escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. zak gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Kessinger wants to improve his position but instead zak has moved into half guard.

Kessinger wants to get back to his feet.

zak decides to stand and escape the position.
zak is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kessinger sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

and zak counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kessinger is working an open guard so zak takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

zak can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kessinger is looking to escape.
zak is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
zak scores with a couple of good head shots there.
zak lands a big shot there that rocks Kessinger but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

zak has hold of Kessinger's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Kessinger manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Kessinger is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

zak wants to finish this one by submission but Kessinger is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from zak.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
zak cracks Kessinger with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

zak decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Kessinger is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst zak is controlling him.

zak seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

lloyd zak showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

zak shoots in looking for a takedown. Kessinger tries to sprawl out of it but zak keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kessinger manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

zak wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kessinger keeps working.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Well zak has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
