The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Impaler is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
The Impaler tries to clinch up but Alkofer circles away and keeps his distance.
The Impaler misses with a series of wild punches.
The Impaler fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Alkofer really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Vlad The Impaler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The Impaler closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The Impaler is covering up but some of the strikes from Alkofer are getting through and doing damage.
The Impaler turns into Alkofer and is now in his guard.
Alkofer has momentary wrist control but The Impaler slips an elbow through the middle.

The Impaler thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The Impaler has gone for a leg lock! Alkofer slips out almost immediately though and dives into The Impaler's guard.

The Impaler is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Alkofer avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ben Alkofer dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

The Impaler changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Alkofer looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The Impaler cracks Alkofer with a big right hand but Alkofer just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

The Impaler stands up and beckons Alkofer to his feet.
Alkofer shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

and Alkofer counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Alkofer has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing The Impaler to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Alkofer is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - The Impaler pulls down on the head and he's put Alkofer to sleep! This one is all over!
