Pointek kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Sevendust - Enemy. This should be a great matchup!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pointek stuffs the takedown.
Maia shoots in but Pointek avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Maia throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Pointek sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Pointek lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Maia shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pointek sprawls well. Pointek wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Maia gets slowly back to his feet.
Mike Pointek has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Damian Maia.
Maia tries to clinch up but Pointek circles away and keeps his distance.
Damian Maia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Maia throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pointek's waist but Pointek gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Maia off to one side.
Maia throws a right and a left that both miss.
The fighters circling - Pointek throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Maia on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Pointek. Pointek obviously looking to wear him down.
Pointek lands with a thumping leg kick.
Maia looks gassed!
Pointek throws a right hand that Maia ducks under and follows up with a left that Maia also avoids with ease.
Pointek lunges at Maia with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Maia's hand.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Pointek! Maia is out on his feet! Pointek rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Maia is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Maia is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
