Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Franklin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Santiago Da Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Franklin kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Bring Da Ruckus. Franklin avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Da Silva tries to close the distance and clinch up but Franklin swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Franklin throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Da Silva was covering up waiting for the punch and Franklin finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Da Silva utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Da Silva wants to stand up but Franklin is controlling him.

Franklin has gone for a leg lock! Da Silva slips out almost immediately though and dives into Franklin's guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Franklin throws a hook but Da Silva blocks it.
Franklin is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Franklin throws a hook to the side of Da Silva's head but Da Silva sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

John Franklin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Da Silva takes one on the chin but seems OK.
A nice leg kick lands there from Da Silva.
