PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between SD Plissken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Meodread Magas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Magas is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Europe - The Final Countdown. Meodread Magas told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, SD Plissken!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Meodread Magas!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Valeri Chadov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Plissken changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Magas tries to avoid it but Plissken manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Magas to the ground. Magas escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Magas loads up on a big right hand but Plissken slips the punch.
Plissken ducks under a wild hook from Magas.
Magas fails with an attempt to clinch.

Magas closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Plissken fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Plissken lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Plissken lands a body punch in the clinch.
Plissken has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Magas avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Magas prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for SD Plissken. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Plissken tries to score a body lock takedown but Magas shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Magas lands a body shot.
Plissken fails to pull guard.
Plissken is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Magas pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Magas is working Plissken over against the cage.
Plissken is breathing heavily.

Plissken has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Magas uses from the top position.
Magas wants to get up but he can't break Plissken's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Magas stands up and waves to Plissken to follow him.

Magas forces Plissken back against the cage and clinches.

Magas manages to break the clinch.
Plissken slips under a jab from Magas.
Magas is looking to clinch.
Plissken throws a series of punches but Magas moves out of range.
Magas throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Plissken shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Magas defends it nicely.
Magas uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Plissken has time to react.

It looks like SD Plissken has been cut.
Plissken gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Magas.
Magas dances in with a quick combination. Plissken is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Magas snaps Plissken's head back. Plissken stumbles backwards against the cage. Magas steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Plissken's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Plissken just didn't come prepared.
