PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cock Chestnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Silver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silver has chosen Pirate Song as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cock Chestnar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Silver!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silver takes the fight into the clinch.
Silver wants to break the clinch but can't.
Chestnar wants a takedown but no success here.
Chestnar has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Silver avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Silver breaks the clinch.
Silver changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Chestnar tries to avoid it but Silver manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Chestnar to the ground. Chestnar escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Silver shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Chestnar as he jumps to the side.
Silver feints and then cracks Chestnar's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Chestnar down.

Chestnar closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Chestnar lands in his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chestnar is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Chestnar postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Silver controls Chestnar momentarily but Chestnar frees himself.

Silver is looking for a triangle but Chestnar pushes his legs off easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Chestnar pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Silver is keeping the position for now.
Chestnar in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Chestnar postures up in Silver's guard and throws a big left but Silver blocks it.
Chestnar trying to control but Silver is working from the bottom.
Chestnar is breathing heavily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Silver tries to clinch but Chestnar moves out of range.
Silver throws a head kick that Chestnar semi-blocks.
Some wild striking there from Silver.
Silver misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Silver throws a head kick that half lands.
John Silver seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Chestnar takes a kick to the side of the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
A solid leg kick lands there for Silver.
Silver throws a head kick but Chestnar moves out of range.
Chestnar takes a kick to the side of the head.
Silver scores with a nice body kick.
Left hook, right uppercut from Silver.
Chestnar shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cock Chestnar. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Silver throws a sloppy head kick and Chestnar moves out of range easily.
Silver lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Chestnar feints and as Silver raises his hands in defense, Chestnar changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Silver trying to keep a closed guard but Chestnar is proving a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chestnar lands a couple of elbows.


It looks like John Silver has been cut.
Chestnar working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Silver's head.
Silver can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Chestnar controls the pace.
Chestnar postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Chestnar keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Silver's head.


That has opened up John Silver's cut even more.
Silver looking to control.
Chestnar has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Chestnar trying to control but Silver is working from the bottom.
Chestnar postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.


Silver is rocked!


The cut above John Silver's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Chestnar landing with the ground and pound.
Silver is still in real trouble! Can Chestnar finish him?


John Silver's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at John Silver's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Cock Chestnar!
