Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Franek Kimono!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Michael Kane!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kimono throws a head kick that misses.
Kimono tries a head kick but it misses.
Kane throws a hook to the side of Kimono's head but Kimono sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Kimono throws a half hearted mid kick.
Kimono throws a sloppy head kick and Kane moves out of range easily.
Kimono plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Kimono bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Kane misses with a two punch combination.

Kane fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kimono avoids it really well and circles away.
Kane throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

Kimono lands a head kick. Kane smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Kimono pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kimono pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kimono throws a head kick but Kane moves out of range.

Kimono connects with a high kick.
Kane misses with a double jab.
Kane blocks a head kick by Kimono.
Kane dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Kimono. That did some damage!
Kane pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Kane misses with a few strikes there.
Kimono lands with a kick to the temple. Kane shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Kane fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Kimono misses with a head kick.
Kimono throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Kane scores with a shot to the body.
Kimono is breathing heavily.

Kane clinches.

Kane has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Kimono clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Kane is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Kane gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Kane gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Kane apologises and we restart here on the feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kane lands with a hook. Kimono tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.


It looks like Franek Kimono has been cut.
Kane wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Kane gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Kane has picked Kimono up - he's going for a ride! Kane dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Kane is trying to control the action in half guard but Kimono is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Kane is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Kimono has managed to free his arm - good work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kimono is trying to escape back to his feet but Kane uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Kane wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kimono, who protects the arm well.
Kane looks up at the clock and then as Kimono takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Kane smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Kimono on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kimono tries to get out of the position.
Kane connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Kimono some visible discomfort.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Kane looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Kimono is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Kane asserts his dominance and retains side control.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Kane has hold of Kimono's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Kimono tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Kane cranks the arm and Kimono screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Kimono, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Michael Kane!
