Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Shane Carwin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jason Steel!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steel looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Carwin is fending him off so far but Steel persists. Nope, Carwin circles away and we're back to standing.
Steel will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Carwin gets a clinch.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Carwin looks for a takedown but Steel sprawls well.

Carwin darts in and clinches Steel up against the cage.
Steel has Carwin pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Carwin manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Steel drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Carwin gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Steel is trying to drag Carwin to the mat but Carwin just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Carwin is pressed up against the cage. Steel has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Carwin down to the mat. Carwin avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Carwin closes the distance and clinches.
Carwin lands a hook that snaps the head of Steel backwards.
Carwin lands with a right to the head.

Steel drops down looking for an ankle pick but Carwin pulls his leg out and moves away.
Carwin fails with a takedown attempt.

Carwin moves into the clinch.
Steel is pressed up against the cage. Carwin has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Steel down to the mat. Steel avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Carwin works over Steel's head and body with a nice combination.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Carwin's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Steel tries for a takedown but Carwin circles away easily

and Carwin counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Carwin thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Steel's head.

Carwin lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Carwin tries to stand and escape but Steel actually recovers to full guard.

Steel utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Carwin throws and elbow that misses. Steel uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Carwin's guard. Nice move by Steel!
Steel wants to pass the guard but Carwin is keeping the position.

Steel stops Carwin from standing up.

Carwin kicks Steel off and gets to his feet.

and Carwin counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Carwin.

Steel changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Carwin fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Carwin gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Carwin wants to stand but Steel is controlling his posture from full guard.
Carwin working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Steel's head.

Carwin has gone for a leg lock! Steel slips out almost immediately though and dives into Carwin's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Carwin pushes Steel off but Steel dives into side control.
Carwin wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Carwin wants to get back to his feet but Steel is dominant here and he's now got Carwin's back!
Carwin is trying to stand back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jason Steel has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Carwin is trying to shake Steel off. He's managed it and has hopped back to his feet! Steel won't be happy about giving up the dominant position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Steel shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Carwin counters with a shoot takedown. Steel fights it but they end up in guard.
Shane Carwin is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Carwin would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Shane Carwin showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Carwin has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
