PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dirk Bandana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Big Boy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bandana kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Los del Rio - La Macarena. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boy swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Bandana shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Boy wants to improve his position but Bandana is controlling well.
Boy keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Bandana is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Boy doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Bandana.

Bandana drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Boy dives on top into guard.
Boy postures up in Bandana's guard and throws a big left but Bandana blocks it.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Boy accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Bandana is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bandana lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Boy!
Boy sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Bandana seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Boy does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Boy is refusing to be controlled, as Bandana sits in half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bandana seems keen to control Boy's posture.
Bandana will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Bandana has momentary wrist control but Boy slips an elbow through the middle.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bandana is on top in guard.

Boy darts in and clinches Bandana up against the cage.
Boy lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Boy digs a right hand into Bandana's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Bandana's gas tank.

Bandana jumps guard but Boy stands there with Bandana around his waist. Bandana gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Bandana has clasped his hands together around Boy's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Bandana wants to lay and pray for a moment but Boy keeps working.

Bandana is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Boy knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Bandana avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Bandana stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Boy swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Bandana postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Boy is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Bandana, into his guard.

Bandana is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Boy is not content to let Bandana control the position.

Bandana is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Boy lands one or two decent shots to the body here. Although from his own half guard, he's not going to be causing too much damage.
Bandana wants to control but Boy is keeping him busy.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Well Boy has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
