Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 2, fighting out of London, Steven Shaw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Ray Ricketts !
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Andrew Berry and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shaw throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ricketts 's waist but Ricketts gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Shaw off to one side.
Ricketts throws a series of punches but Shaw avoids them all with ease.
Shaw shoots in and drives through. Ricketts sprawls well.
Shaw fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ricketts avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steven Shaw. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ricketts misses with a wild combination.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Ricketts has eaten all the pies!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Ricketts blocks a jab.

Ricketts misses with a two punch combination.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Shaw closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ricketts circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Shaw's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Ricketts throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Shaw fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Ricketts lands a jab-cross combination.

Shaw shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ricketts as he jumps to the side.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Ricketts fails to land with a series of punches.
Steven Shaw seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shaw stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Ricketts .

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Ricketts misses with a wild combination.
Shaw showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Ricketts .
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Shaw is defended easily by Ricketts .

Shaw fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ricketts sprawls well initially but Shaw persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Shaw stops Ricketts from getting back to his feet.
Ricketts really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shaw. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Shaw seems to be looking for submissions.

Shaw is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Shaw is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ricketts defends it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ray Ricketts showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Ricketts looks to land a combination but Shaw avoids it well.

Shaw shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ricketts but Ricketts pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Ricketts misses with a few strikes there.

Ricketts fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Shaw checks it well.
Shaw shoots for a double leg takedown but Ricketts sprawls well. He's pushed Shaw's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Shaw avoids a punch combination nicely.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Shaw shoots in for a takedown but Ricketts shows good takedown defense.

Shaw closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ricketts to the mat! Ricketts manages to get full guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Shaw has gone for a leg lock! Ricketts slips out almost immediately though and dives into Shaw's guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Ray Ricketts .
I've got Ricketts winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
