The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanders scores with a nice head shot.

It looks like John McGee has been cut.
McGee misses with a wild combination.
McGee fails to land with a series of punches.
Sanders fails with an attempt to clinch.
McGee tries to score with a low kick but Sanders moves his leg out of the way.

McGee feints and as Sanders raises his hands in defense, McGee changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
McGee won't allow Sanders to get back to his feet.
Sanders tries to strike from the bottom.

McGee stands up from Sanders's guard - McGee perhaps looking for a knockout.
Sanders tries to clinch up but McGee circles away and keeps his distance.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Sanders breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Sanders throws a series of punches but McGee moves out of range.

Sanders is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by McGee.
Sanders connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between McGee's hands.

Sanders fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches McGee on the side of the head.

McGee drives through with a takedown into guard.

Sanders drives through and clinches with McGee against the cage.

McGee has had enough of the clinch but Sanders keeps him there for the moment.

Sanders keeps control of McGee as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Sanders breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
McGee swats away the attempt to clinch by Sanders.
McGee misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Sanders is on the wrong end of a nice combination from McGee.
McGee throws a sloppy head kick and Sanders moves out of range easily.
Sanders tries to clinch there but McGee circles away.

Sanders shoots in for a takedown but McGee shows good takedown defense.
McGee throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
McGee misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sanders wants to clinch up but McGee keeps it at a distance.
Sanders shoots in and drives through. McGee sprawls well.

Sanders is rocked!

McGee stands up from Sanders's guard - McGee perhaps looking for a knockout.
Oh Sanders is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
McGee displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Sanders throws out the jab.
Sanders wants to clinch up but McGee keeps it at a distance.
Sanders seems to have got his legs back now.
Sanders tries to close the distance and clinch up but McGee swats him away and circles back towards the center.
McGee throws a series of punches but Sanders avoids them all with ease.

McGee decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Sanders has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
McGee tries to pass the half guard into mount. Sanders knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Sanders flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sanders is looking to escape.
Sanders won't allow McGee to pass to mount.

McGee not landing any meaningful shots this time.

McGee throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sanders.

Sanders closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops McGee! Sanders dives in looking to finish! McGee is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
