Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Lawson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and SKY MANA (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). MANA has chosen satisfy my soul as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
MANA defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Lawson.
Lawson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says MANA as he avoids it easily.
MANA clinches with his opponent.
MANA drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Lawson gets the underhooks and prevents it.
MANA has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Lawson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
MANA breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lawson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from MANA.
John Lawson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of SKY MANA.
Lawson shoots and misses
and MANA counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Lawson!
MANA takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
MANA looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lawson is in a horrible position here. MANA smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, MANA cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

MANA is thwarting Lawson's attempts to control the position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
MANA is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Lawson is breathing heavily.

Lawson wants to get back to full guard.

MANA gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

and MANA counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Lawson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lawson tries to get out of the position.
MANA is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Lawson wants to stand up but MANA is controlling him.
MANA seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Lawson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
MANA shoots in for a takedown but Lawson shows good takedown defense.
Lawson tries to work over MANA's front leg with a kick but MANA checks it.

Lawson is looking for a sweep. MANA is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Lawson is trying to maintain the position but MANA is very close to passing his half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
MANA is controlling the pace.

Ground and pound from MANA.
MANA working over Lawson with some ground and pound. Lawson looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
MANA performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Lawson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Lawson is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute MANA jumps into side control!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Lawson tries to get back to half guard but can't.
A lull in the action here as MANA stalls from top position.

Despite being in the dominant position, SKY MANA just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
MANA looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Lawson!
Lawson tries to hold on but MANA postures up.
MANA get's back to his feet.
MANA misses with a takedown attempt
and Lawson counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
MANA clinches with his opponent.

MANA jumps into guard, dragging Lawson to the mat.
MANA bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lawson's guard.
MANA slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
MANA gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
MANA closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
MANA pulls Lawson into guard.
Lawson passes MANA's left leg - he's now in half guard.
MANA is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Lawson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Lawson's back!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
SKY MANA showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Lawson throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and MANA counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by MANA.
MANA should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Lawson fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Lawson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. MANA smiles and moves away.
MANA shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lawson as he avoids it easily.
Lawson fails to land with a series of punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from MANA is defended easily by Lawson.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

MANA gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

MANA is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Lawson is surviving well by controlling MANA's body position as best he can.

SKY MANA is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
MANA looking to control and managing it successfully.
Lawson keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

SKY MANA comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
