The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dos Santos drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Ritchie tries to escape but Dos Santos is in control.

Ritchie is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Dos Santos gets his way!

Ritchie wants to control but Dos Santos is having none of it.

Dos Santos goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Ritchie turns into him and now he's in Dos Santos's guard.

Dos Santos shoots for a double leg takedown but Ritchie sprawls well. He's pushed Dos Santos's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Ritchie shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Ritchie showed some decent athleticism there.

Ritchie decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Ritchie feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Ritchie closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Dos Santos is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Dos Santos is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Ritchie couldn't care less - he's delighted!
