PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Krzysiek Sikora (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randall Floyd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Floyd comes into a darkened arena with his song building. California Waiting by Kings of Leon kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Krzysiek Sikora!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Floyd wants to clinch up but Sikora keeps it at a distance.
A jab from Sikora misses.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Sikora lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Floyd has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Floyd and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Sikora throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Floyd throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Sikora was covering up waiting for the punch and Floyd finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Sikora knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Floyd on the ground.
Floyd postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Floyd accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Floyd has gone for a leg lock! Sikora slips out almost immediately though and dives into Floyd's guard.

Floyd is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sikora defends well.

Floyd controls Sikora momentarily but Sikora frees himself.
Sikora has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Sikora stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Floyd swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Floyd had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sikora defends it easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Floyd working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sikora doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sikora manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Floyd is looking for a triangle but Sikora pushes his legs off easily.

Sikora stands and steps away. Floyd gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Floyd tries to close the distance and clinch but Sikora swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Sikora looks to score with a jab to the body but Floyd is just out of range.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Floyd has clasped his hands together around Sikora's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Floyd goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Sikora has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Floyd but great work by Sikora.

Sikora decides to stand up, so the ref orders Floyd to his feet.

A slow jab from Floyd misses its intended target.
Floyd takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Sikora throws a body kick that misses.
Sikora fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Floyd checks it well.

Floyd closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Sikora tries to kick Floyd off but Floyd keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Floyd passes the guard and advances to mount!

Floyd looking to control but Sikora is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Floyd is landing with some decent strikes but Sikora is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Sikora tries to hold on but Floyd postures up.

Floyd swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Sikora is now in Floyd's guard. A big mistake from Floyd there, giving up the dominant position!
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Floyd has his foot on Sikora's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sikora works his way back into a safe position though.

Sikora gets to his feet - Floyd follows without any prompting.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Floyd shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Floyd was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Floyd working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Sikora turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Floyd off and cradles Sikora's limp body as Floyd celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Randall Floyd!
