The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
talburt shoots for a double leg takedown but McKagan sprawls well. He's pushed talburt's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

talburt shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McKagan as he jumps to the side.

McKagan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

talburt drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but McKagan manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now talburt has McKagan in his guard.
McKagan slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

talburt is trying to escape the mount but McKagan keeps good control and instead manages to take talburt's back.

Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards McKagan.
McKagan is persistently looking for the submission but talburt is defending it well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
You can see the frustration on talburt's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
