Buenrostro is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Blue Oyster Bar. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson has a takedown stuffed.
Thompson shoots in for a takedown but Buenrostro shows good takedown defense.
Thompson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Buenrostro moves away.

Buenrostro shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Thompson napping and manages to drive through into side control!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Buenrostro lands a decent elbow from side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Buenrostro fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Thompson tries to bench press Buenrostro off him but Buenrostro keeps the position.
Buenrostro tries to stand but Thompson controls the position and pulls Buenrostro into his guard.
Buenrostro working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Thompson wants to stand and escape but Buenrostro is having none of it.
Thompson is trying to control the position but Buenrostro postures up.
Thompson is pulling down on Buenrostro's head. It's preventing any offense from Buenrostro, at least for the moment.

Thompson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Buenrostro defends it easily.
Buenrostro in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Thompson is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Buenrostro frees his head nicely. Oh but Thompson has switched to an armbar! Buenrostro is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
