PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Manuel Eduardo Calderon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brock Carwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carwin has chosen Break Stuff as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carwin avoids a punch combination nicely.

Calderon shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Carwin is keen to just control but Calderon is a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

and Carwin counters with a single leg into guard. Calderon didn't expect that.

Calderon escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Carwin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Carwin wants to stand but Calderon has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Calderon tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Calderon is looking for a triangle but Carwin pushes his legs off easily.

Calderon is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Carwin defends well.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Carwin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Calderon swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Calderon looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Carwin is defending well. Calderon quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Carwin has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Calderon celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
