PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Austin Campbell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Pritchett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Campbell comes into the arena with All I Do Is Win blaring out of the sound system. The crowd seem to be enjoying Pritchett's choice of entrance music: Protect your neck. Chris Pritchett struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 156.0lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Chris Pritchett has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Andrew Berry and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Campbell throws a right and a left that both miss.
Campbell lands a slapping body shot.
Campbell uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Pritchett.
Campbell throws an overhand right that lands on Pritchett's shoulder, as Pritchett tries to avoid the shot.
Pritchett ducks under a wild hook from Campbell.
Pritchett wants to clinch up but Campbell keeps it at a distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pritchett fails to land with a series of punches.
Campbell throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Campbell slows the pace down in half guard.
Campbell takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Pritchett wants to get back to full guard.
Campbell throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Campbell seems to be working for a kimura but Pritchett defends the submission attempt.
Campbell working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Pritchett working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Campbell doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Campbell manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Pritchett looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Pritchett takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Campbell trying to control the position from guard on top but Pritchett is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Campbell drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Campbell seems to have locked his on tight now - Pritchett screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Campbell, as he picks up the win!
