Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joe Rockhead!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, James Wong!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Chris Edwards and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rockhead dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Rockhead uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Wong.
Wong defending well as Rockhead loads up on a big left hand.
Rockhead scores with a body shot.
Wong throws a series of punches but Rockhead avoids them all with ease.
Wong misses with a hook.
Wong works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
It looks like Joe Rockhead has been cut.
Rockhead listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
The crowd cheers as Rockhead lands an impressive looking overhand right. Wong doesn't seem phased though.
Rockhead uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Wong.
Rockhead lunges at Wong with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Wong's hand.
Rockhead connects with a body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Rockhead scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
A big left from Wong misses.
Rockhead takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Wong takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Wong looks gassed!
Wong takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Rockhead swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Rockhead jabs Wong right on the nose. Wong blinks but takes it well.
Rockhead swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Wong counters with a two punch combo.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rockhead bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Rockhead lunges at Wong with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Wong's hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wong throws a front kick aimed at Rockhead's knee but Rockhead avoids it well.
Wong slips a jab from Rockhead.
Wong misses with a combination
and Rockhead connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Wong dodges the punch combination from Rockhead.
Wong walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Rockhead drops Wong with a beautiful combination! Wong stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Rockhead is looking for the KO!
Wong is rocked!
It looks like James Wong has been cut.
Wong drops his hands momentarily and Rockhead takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Wong is still on wobbly legs! Can Rockhead finish him?
Rockhead drops Wong with a straight right hand, right on the button! Rockhead follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joe Rockhead!
