Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Cowell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Colin Mac Mathuna!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Paulo Santos and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cowell fails to land the takedown.

Mac Mathuna is squirming around, avoiding Cowell's attempts to control the action.

Cowell manages to capitalize on a mistake by Mac Mathuna to take his back!
Cowell wants to control but Mac Mathuna is keeping busy.
Cowell is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Cowell lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Cowell.

Will Cowell go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Mac Mathuna looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Mac Mathuna is trapped and Cowell is scoring with shots to the head and body.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cowell has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Mac Mathuna's body.
Cowell wants to control but Mac Mathuna is keeping busy.
What can Mac Mathuna do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Cowell is persistently looking for the submission but Mac Mathuna is defending it well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cowell is breathing heavily.

Cowell has got his arm under Mac Mathuna's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Mac Mathuna has spun round into Cowell's guard beautifully! Well done that man!

Mac Mathuna swings around for an armbar but Cowell sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Mac Mathuna's guard.

Cowell uses his free foot to push down on Mac Mathuna's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Mac Mathuna.

Mac Mathuna tries to lock up and control but Cowell gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Cowell connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Cowell lands a heavy elbow.
Cowell avoids the attempt from Mac Mathuna to control.

Cowell has hold of Mac Mathuna's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Mac Mathuna manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
BOOM! Cowell connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Cowell seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Mac Mathuna for as long as he can get away with.
Mac Mathuna is in all sorts of trouble here.

Anderson Cowell overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Mac Mathuna looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.

Mac Mathuna is having to fend off submission attempts from Cowell, who is looking to sink in the choke. Cowell doesn't have the hooks in though and Mac Mathuna manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Cowell holds on and takes a little breather.

Cowell working for a triangle but Mac Mathuna defends it easily.

Cowell working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mac Mathuna doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mac Mathuna manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Mac Mathuna is looking to work some ground and pound but Cowell has wrist control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Cowell shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Cowell was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Mac Mathuna tries to improve his position but Cowell has taken his back! Cowell has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Mac Mathuna tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Cowell Pushes Mac Mathuna away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:04 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Anderson Cowell!
