Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Al Coholic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Severn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Severn has chosen Pride FC Theme as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Al Coholic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ken Severn!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Shimada and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coholic will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Severn feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Coholic is trying to keep Severn in close.
Severn seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Coholic keeping moving, preventing Severn from controlling successfully.
Severn slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Coholic manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Severn is squirming around, avoiding Coholic's attempts to control the action.
Severn should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Severn can't escape the position.
Coholic sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Severn is desperately trying to improve his position but Coholic has a good base and remains in mount.
Coholic seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Severn is holding on tight.

Poor strikes thrown by Coholic there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Severn is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Severn manages to regain half guard. Good work.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Severn trying to control here.
Severn looks gassed!
Coholic wants to pass the guard but Severn is defending well.
Severn is staying active underneath Coholic, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Coholic is working for a submission of some sort.
Severn wants to control but Coholic is keeping busy.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Coholic looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Coholic throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Severn keeping hold of Coholic's head, controlling as best he can.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Coholic tries to free his leg and advance position but Severn is retaining full guard.

Severn pushes a forearm under Coholic's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Coholic is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:02 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Ken Severn!
