Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nigel Burkshire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Burnett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Burkshire comes to the ring accompanied by It's a Fight - Three 6 Mafia. Dan Burnett is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dan Burnett!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burnett throws a head kick that misses.
Burkshire waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Burnett.
Burnett takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Burnett swats away the attempt to clinch by Burkshire.
Burnett circles away from the clinch attempt.
Burnett avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Burnett shoots in looking for a takedown. Burkshire tries to sprawl out of it but Burnett keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Burkshire manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
The fight stays on the outside here - Burkshire looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Burnett throws the kick towards the body but Burkshire avoids it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Burnett shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Burkshire sprawls well. Burkshire wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Burnett gets slowly back to his feet.
Nigel Burkshire has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dan Burnett.
Burkshire throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Burnett.

Burnett lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Burkshire circles away quickly and effectively.
Burkshire misses with a body kick.

Burnett drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Burnett in side control, throwing shots but Burkshire defends.
Burnett has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Burnett looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Burnett is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Burkshire knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Burkshire accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Burnett is trying to control the position but Burkshire postures up.

Burnett has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Burkshire can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Burkshire trying to control the position from guard on top but Burnett is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Burkshire darts in trying to clinch

and Burnett counters with a shoot takedown. Burkshire fights it but they end up in guard.

Burnett postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Burkshire is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Burnett, into his guard.

Burnett has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Burkshire can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Burnett is breathing heavily.

Burnett is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Burkshire thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Burnett is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Burkshire postures up in Burnett's guard and throws a big left but Burnett blocks it.

Burnett takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Burkshire throws a lazy right hand but Burnett sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Burkshire forces Burnett back against the ropes and clinches.

Burkshire is stalling in the full guard.

Burkshire avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Burkshire pushing down on Burnett's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Burnett actively working from the bottom here.
Burnett takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Burkshire wants to pass the guard but Burnett is defending well.

Burnett makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Burnett.

Burkshire got a little sloppy there for a moment and Burnett has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Burkshire has managed to get both his arms back between Burnett's legs - danger averted.
