The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ball wants to clinch up but Castroy keeps it at a distance.
Ball shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Castroy closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Ball wants to control but Castroy is keeping busy.
Ball wants to get back to his feet.
Castroy is controlling the pace.
Ball is looking to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ball is looking for a sweep. Castroy is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Castroy is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Castroy is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ball is just riding it out for now. Castroy eventually gives up the hold.

Castroy is taking a breather. Ball says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Castroy tries to pass to full mount but Ball defends it.

Castroy takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Castroy lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ball takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Castroy's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
