Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Waqas Malik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Malik kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The Final Countdown. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Thomas Taylor enters the cage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malik tries to clinch up.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Malik - that will leave a mark!
Taylor tries to clinch but Malik is having none of it.
Malik closes the distance looking to clinch

so Taylor counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Tayloris looking to pass into half guard but Malik pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Malik is in guard.
Malik pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Taylor is keeping the position for now.
Malik with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Malik drops back looking for a leg! Taylor is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Taylor manages to kick Malik off! Malik jumps back into Taylor's guard.

Malik throws a big right hand that misses.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Malik closes the distance but Taylor moves to the side

and Taylor decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Malik's guard.
Taylor trying to control but Malik is working from the bottom.

Malik is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Malik is looking to stand up but Taylor isn't so interested in that idea.

Taylor avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Malik has his foot on Taylor's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Taylor works his way back into a safe position though.

Taylor really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Malik. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Taylor trying to move into half guard but instead Malik has managed to sweep!
Taylor looking to hit a scissor sweep but Malik is one step ahead there.
Malik wants to pass the guard but Taylor is keeping the position.

Malik works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Malik seems to be looking for submissions.
Malik is looking to advance position but Taylor won't allow it.
Malik is breathing heavily.
Taylor is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Malik jumps into side control!
Taylor struggling a bit here.
Taylor is looking to regain half guard here but Malik keeps moving and retains side control.
Taylor should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Malik has hold of Taylor's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Taylor seems comfortable defending it but Malik has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Taylor is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Taylor is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Malik couldn't care less - he's delighted!
