The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martinez fails to land with a series of punches.
Martinez tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Scott paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Martinez moves into the clinch.
Scott landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Martinez tries to break the clinch but Scott is controlling the position.
Martinez is trying to break the clinch but Scott is controlling him.
Scott looking to throw knees to the head but Martinez is blocking nicely.
Scott lands a good knee to the midsection. Martinez won't want to take too many of those.

A frustrated look appears on Martinez's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Scott cracks Martinez with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Martinez is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Martinez tries to circle away but Scott has him pinned against the cage.
Scott with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.

Martinez takes a knee right on the jaw!

Scott drops Martinez with a big knee straight up the middle! Martinez is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!

Jay Scott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Oh Martinez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Scott cracks Martinez with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Martinez tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Scott pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Martinez is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
