The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCready thows a body shot but no joy.
Ryan shoots in for a double leg but McCready sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Good shot there by McCready.

It looks like Ford Ryan has been cut.
McCready wants to slow Ryan down by chopping away at his legs.
McCready scores with a nice right hand.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from McCready, right into the meat.
McCready misses with a jab, cross combination.
A jab from Ryan misses.
McCready throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
McCready misses the shot to the body.

Ryan darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Ryan is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
McCready wants to get back to full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Ryan throws a sloppy head kick and McCready moves out of range easily.

McCready lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Ryan fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but McCready avoids it really well and circles away.

Ryan takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
McCready throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Ryan counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
McCready thows a body shot but no joy.

Ryan looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? McCready is fending him off so far but Ryan persists. Nope, McCready circles away and we're back to standing.

Ford Ryan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McCready connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Good leg kick by McCready there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Ryan takes one to the side of the head.
McCready looks to land a combination but Ryan avoids it well.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ryan stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from McCready.
McCready connects with a looping right hand.
McCready is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Ryan had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
McCready throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ryan stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Ryan walks into a jab.
McCready throws a right and a left that both miss.
McCready misses with a wild combination.
McCready throws a quick inside leg kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
McCready leaves Ryan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
McCready lands a two punch combo.
McCready changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
McCready lands a nice shot that snaps Ryan's head back.
Ryan tries to score a power double leg takedown but McCready sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ryan somewhat.
McCready lands a head shot.
Ryan looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
McCready tests Ryan's chin there with a solid looking shot.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
McCready misses with a series of wild punches.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Ryan misses with a series of wild punches.
Ryan throws a left and a right that both miss
and McCready counters with a low kick, right behind Ryan 's knee.
Ryan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says McCready as he avoids it easily.
A decent looking cross lands there for McCready.
McCready dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Ryan has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Ryan there as he acknowledges the shot.
McCready moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Ryan is rocked!
McCready fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Ryan.
McCready cracks Ryan with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Ryan tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but McCready pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Ryan is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
