Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Frank Shamrock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonakis Nikolos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Antonakis Nikolos has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frank Shamrock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Antonakis Nikolos!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Wagner Zegers and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nikolos tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Shamrock looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Nikolos shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Shamrock as he avoids it easily.
Shamrock takes a kick to the side of the head.
Nikolos dodges the punch combination from Shamrock.
Nikolos lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Shamrock shoots in for a takedown but Nikolos shows good takedown defense.
Nikolos tries for a takedown but Shamrock circles away easily

and Shamrock counters with a single leg into guard. Nikolos didn't expect that.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Shamrock prevents Nikolos from getting back to his feet.

Shamrock wants to control from the top but Nikolos keeps moving.
Nikolos is trying to control the position but Shamrock postures up.

Shamrock is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Nikolos is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Nikolos has escaped and now he's on top!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shamrock throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Nikolos stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shamrock swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Shamrock is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Shamrock has an active guard here but Nikolos has managed to pass into half guard.
Shamrock tries to get to full guard but Nikolos has control of the leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shamrock is refusing to be controlled, as Nikolos sits in half guard.
Shamrock wants to control but Nikolos is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Nikolos wants to pass to mount but Shamrock is defending the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Nikolos tries for a takedown but Shamrock sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Frank Shamrock has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Antonakis Nikolos.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Shamrock scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Shamrock seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Nikolos does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Nikolos tries to get back to half guard but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Frank Shamrock will probably get the nod.
That's time! Shamrock's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Shamrock stands up from Nikolos's guard - Shamrock perhaps looking for a knockout.
Shamrock will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Shamrock misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Nikolos swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Nikolos shoots in for a takedown but Shamrock shows good takedown defense.
Shamrock misses with a double jab
and Nikolos counters with a good, hard body kick but Shamrock shrugs it off.
Nikolos fails with an attempt to clinch.
Frank Shamrock is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Nikolos shoots in looking for a takedown. Shamrock tries to sprawl out of it but Nikolos keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Shamrock manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Frank Shamrock has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Antonakis Nikolos.

Shamrock throws a wild body kick that Nikolos sees coming a mile off.

Shamrock shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Shamrock was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Shamrock trying to control but Nikolos is having none of it.

Shamrock is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Nikolos to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Nikolos shrugs it off.

Shamrock prevents Nikolos from getting the reversal.
Shamrock is landing with some decent strikes but Nikolos is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Shamrock moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Nikolos has worked his arm free - good work by Nikolos!
Shamrock prevents Nikolos from escaping the position.
Shamrock postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Shamrock tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Shamrock has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Nikolos doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Shamrock counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Shamrock is trying to work for a kimura but Nikolos is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frank Shamrock dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Shamrock closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Shamrock wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nikolos keeps working.
Nikolos won't allow Shamrock to pass to mount.
Nikolos tries to kick Shamrock off but Shamrock keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Shamrock is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Shamrock wants to work for an arm triangle but Nikolos is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Shamrock maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Nikolos could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Shamrock has cracked it and Nikolos is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Shamrock!
