Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tatsuya Kimura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Tatum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tatum has chosen Time to Play the Game as his entrance music. David Tatum has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tatsuya Kimura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, David Tatum!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Kenichi Hosakawa and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kimura tries to clinch but Tatum moves out of range.

Kimura moves in looking to clinch but Tatum pushes him off.
Tatum tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kimura swivels and escapes.
Kimura tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tatum swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Tatum shoots in for a takedown but Kimura shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Kimura has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Tatum's face.

Kimura has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Tatum is bucking up trying to escape but Kimura cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Kimura goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Tatum turns into him and now he's in Kimura's guard.

Kimura can't keep his opponent in guard - Tatum advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Tatum wants to take a breather but Kimura is having none of it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Kimura buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Kimura lands a jab.

Kimura shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Tatum is trying to defend but Kimura finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Tatum shoots in for a double leg but Kimura sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

It looks like David Tatum has been cut.
Kimura is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Kimura rushes Tatum and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
Kimura throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Kimura ties up his opponent against the ropes and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Kimura no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Kimura shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Kimura moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Tatum has worked his arm free - good work by Tatum!

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Tatum is looking for a sweep.
Kimura tries to score with some ground and pound. Tatum controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Kimura tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kimura has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Tatum tries to bench press Kimura off him but Kimura keeps the position.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Kimura lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Nice takedown defense from Kimura. No joy for Tatum on that attempt.
Tatum shoots in for a takedown but Kimura shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Kimura lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Tatum backs up against the ropes.

Kimura is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Tatum is aware though and is defending well.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kimura is trying to control the position but Tatum postures up.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kimura is on top in guard.

Tatum working for submissions but it's allowed Kimura to get to half guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Kimura is working for a kimura but Tatum is defending it quite comfortably.
Tatum wants to control but Kimura is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Kimura is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Tatum reverses the position - he's now on top in Kimura's guard.
Kimura has control of Tatum's left arm, preventing Tatum from doing any damage.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Kimura wants to sweep but no luck.
Tatum stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kimura swivels though and keeps the full guard.

David Tatum has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Tatum fails to land the takedown.
Tatum shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kimura as he avoids it easily.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tatsuya Kimura showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Kimura has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
