PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jay Reddman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Simpson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reddman comes to the cage accompanied by Empire State of Mind. Richard Simpson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reddman throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Simpson on the side of the head.
A jab from Reddman does it's job there.
Simpson gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Simpson throws a right and a left that Reddman avoids nicely.
Reddman darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
A combination from Reddman does no damage.
Reddman uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Simpson has time to react.

and Reddman counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Reddman moves into the clinch.
Simpson is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Reddman is looking to break free of the clinch but Simpson has double underhooks.
Reddman creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Reddman has had enough of the clinch but Simpson keeps him there for the moment.
Reddman changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Simpson fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Reddman tries to bum rush Simpson with a series of wild strikes but Simpson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Simpson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Reddman connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Simpson has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Reddman finds it's way round the side to connect with Simpson's head.

Reddman gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Simpson regains guard.

Simpson is working an open guard so Reddman takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Reddman moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Reddman drops Simpson with a huge uppercut! Simpson drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Reddman is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
