Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Van Halen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trent Hoop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Van Halen's entrance music is Here I Go Again. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Halen misses with a body kick.
Van Halen ducks under a wild hook from Hoop.
Van Halen tries for a takedown but Hoop sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Hoop keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Trent Hoop seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Van Halen feints and as Hoop raises his hands in defense, Van Halen changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Van Halen is looking for a kimura but Hoop is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Van Halen to get the leverage.
Van Halen is just content to waste time from the top position. Hoop takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Van Halen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Van Halen is trying to control the position but Hoop postures up.

Van Halen drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hoop looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hoop looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hoop!

Van Halen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hoop tries to avoid it but Van Halen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hoop to the ground. Hoop escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Hoop lands with an uppercut that bounces Van Halen off the cage and back into rage.

Van Halen shoots in for a takedown but Hoop shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
